2009 - Our fourth collaboration with the annual Gay Shame event provided the perfect excuse to create our first Flashing Bodies action. This year, Gay Shame GOES GIRLY was based on the generic theme of femininity. We adapted our happening for a massive audience of around 4000 people by taking the idea of female monkeys as our departure point.
A simple stage and set created an intimate space for group actions. We asked the participating audience to pose in groups, remove their clothes and wear a selection of quirky props. We gave them instructions and encourgaed some open play responces and shot the photos - The results were WILD!
A video documentary, plus some of the images, where projected live on the night. You can see a selection of the photos below and if that doesn't quench your thirst, you can see the rest of the best in our first booklet - here !!
So our first action was a brilliant success thanks to everyone at Gay Shame - We loved it!
We had a fantastic time and can't wait to do it again...
See you there.
